Deafness Research Foundation Research Grants

For 50 years, on an annual basis, DRF has allocated funds to scientists throughout the United States in the field of hearing and balance science research. Applicants can find out if they are eligible for DRF grants by viewing DRF's Policy on Grants Research Projects Procedures, Grant Background, and Grant Instructions.

DRF offers two small grants for the 2009-2010 fiscal year, awarded projects commencing on July 1st. Below is a list of our upcoming grants.

DRF 2009-2010 HEARING AND BALANCE SCIENCE RESEARCH GRANT
Deadline: New/First Year Applicants, December 1, 2008 by 5PM EST; Renewals/Second Year Applicants, Letter of Intent must be submitted by December 1, 2008 and a completed Second Year Application/Progress Report on January 14, 2009, both received respectively by 5PM.

The Deafness Research Foundation (DRF) requests applications from both new applicants, and DRF awardees applying for a second year of funding, who are dedicated to exploring new avenues of hearing and balance science. All proposals related to research in hearing and balance, both basic and applied clinical, will be considered. Find out if you're eligible to apply for this grant or download an application.


2009-2010 DRF CENTURION CLINICAL RESEARCH AWARD
Deadline:
  Letters of Intent are due on December 15, 2008 EST and full applications are due January 15, 2009 EST.

The Deafness Research Foundation (DRF) is partnering with the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery’s (AAO-HNS) CORE Grants Program to offer a new one-year grant of $50,000 for clinical research in the haring and balance sciences.  The purpose of this award is to support clinical research projects in hearing and balance science.  Clinical research involves human participants and may be directed toward diagnosis, epidemiology, genetics, clinical pathophysiology, and treatment.  Find out more about the DRF Centurion Clinical Research Award at http://www.entnet.org/EducationAndResearch/09-CORE-Funding-Announce.cfm#DRF
